4 Delicious and Healthy Milk Tea Recipes

There are so many health benefits to drinking tea. It’s low in calories, packed with antioxidants and has an undeniably calming effect. As an Asian person, milk tea (or tea latte) has a special place in my heart.. but the milk teas that I get in boba shops are oftentimes too sweet and unhealthy. So, I’ve decided to experiment by making my own milk teas at home. The results were AWESOME!

After experimenting with several different recipes, here were my top four favorites. I hope you’ll give them a try!

Hot Ginger Milk Tea

Drink this tea if you’re on the verge of getting a cold or losing your voice. It will soothe your symptoms and give you a nice boost in energy.

Steep the Double Ginger Tea in 1/2 cup of hot water

Add 1/2 cup of warm almond milk

A dash of creamer

2 teaspoons of honey

Enjoy!

Chamomile Tea Latte

Chamomile is fragrant, calming and absolutely delicious. This is the best choice for those who want to take a minute to pamper themselves.

Steep the Soothing Chamomile Tea in 1/2 cup of hot water

Add 1/2 cup of warm almond milk

A dash of creamer

A drop of vanilla extract

2 teaspoons of honey

Sprinkle cinnamon on top

Enjoy!

Coconut Green Tea Latte

The flexibility of green tea makes it a superb base for experimentation. My favorite combination so far has got to be coconut milk with green tea.

Steep the Imperial Green Tea in 1/2 cup of hot water

Add 1/2 cup of warm coconut milk

1 packet of stevia

Sprinkle cinnamon on top

Enjoy!

Sleepy Time Latte

The Sleep Well Tea from Flora Health definitely lives up to its name. With notes of lemongrass, mint, and chamomile, this tea is perfectly floral with a gentle kick of spice. Drink it before bed and you’ll find yourself feeling more restful than ever.

Steep the Sleep Well Tea in 1/2 cup of hot water

Add 1/2 cup of warm almond milk

2 teaspoons of honey

Stir and enjoy!
