My First Time Cooking with HelloFresh!

My First Time Cooking with HelloFresh!

I've always been the type to only do well at tasks that I find fun and rewarding, which is why I generally steered away from serious cooking. You know - the kind that actually involves meat, not just... cereal. Just kidding, I'm not THAT bad at cooking. I just find it really expensive to cook for myself because I like eating well, and fresh ingredients are always much more expensive than simply buying a meal to go.

Little did I know, there's a solution to all the issues I had with cooking. Meet HelloFresh! Not only are the recipes really easy to cook, the ingredients are truly fresh and it's super affordable. Seriously so worth it!! I've heard about meal deliveries like this but I never wanted to trust anyone picking out my groceries. They delivered ingredients that were much fresher than what I could've found at my local grocery store. The recipes were also extremely easy to cook and absolutely delicious. Throughout the cooking process, I kept thinking to myself, "Seriously, it's this easy? This is actually fun." So, count me as a believer!

Give it a try and you'll see what I mean. You can cancel at any time with no strings attached. Plus, here's a 50% off promo code for your first trial week: GIRLANDTHEWORD50

When you head to the HelloFresh website, just select the meal plans you want to get started. I chose the classic plan because I only have to feed myself and the boyfriend! :P

Our package arrived on time and in excellent condition. There were cold packs inside to keep all the ingredients as fresh as possible.

Even Ollie was impressed! He couldn't stop sniffing the box because it was full of NOMS!!!

I received three delicious recipes: Korean Beef Bibimbap, Creamy Dill Chicken, and Cherry-Drizzled Pork Chops. I'll document how I made the bibimbap for you guys.

1. Prep the Veggies

Can we just take a look at how fresh those veggies are?! LOVE it!

2. Make the Sauce

They provided all the ingredients needed, including vinegar. I really appreciate that HelloFresh doesn't just assume I have basic ingredients like vinegar because I actually don't. Lol!

3. Cook Rice

Yep, I don't have a rice cooker, either. But you don't need one! If you want to cook a cup of rice, just boil two cups of water, throw the rice in, and reduce the heat to low for 10-15 minutes.

4. Sautee the Veggies

Sautee everything in salt and pepper. That's all!

5. Cook the Ground Beef

This is when you dump all the chopped ginger and garlic in and mix it all around until the beef becomes browned and fragrant.

6. Plate and Serve!

My favorite part!

All this was so fun and easy that I will definitely continue this service in the future. I mean, why spend a ton on groceries and eat the same food over and over when you can have fresh ingredients and recipes delivered straight to your door for a fraction of the cost? It's literally a no brainer for me!
