How to Spice Up Your Bathroom Towels (DIY)
Bath towels are often undermined, but when they suck, you have to admit that your showering experience also takes a noticeable dip in quality and enjoyment. I made the mistake of sacrificing function for form many times in the past, thinking it's just towels, it doesn't really matter. Ehh - WRONG! Each time I walked out of the shower, I was faced with a stupid and unnecessary decision: do I want to half-dry myself with the faulty towels or do I want to go all out and be covered in lint? It sounds ridiculous, but I started dreading the "drying off" part of showering because it was just so inconvenient. Who knew that a small thing like towels could make such a huge difference in our lifestyle quality?
That's why I finally decided, no more. Time to freaking enjoy my life to its fullest. Why am I skimping back on towels, for goodness' sake? My body deserves it! x)
After some research, I found a brand called SaaSoh. Their towels are made of 100% long-staple cotton, which means that it's super absorbent and soft to the touch. Each luxurious design also came in a gorgeous collection of elegant pastel colors. Here are a few of my favorites from the 3-piece sets:
After dealing with crappy towels for so long, I decided purge all of my current ones and opted for the 6-piece SaaSoh set. Two words: no regrets. When it arrived, I couldn't stop touching it because it was SO soft. But it isn't the fake type of softness that becomes dull after a few uses and goes away after you wash it - no, no, no. This is long-staple cotton, ladies and gentleman. It will stay soft for years to come. Ya girl was definitely feeling spoiled! Here are my favorite colors/designs from the 6-piece sets:
Despite all the beautiful colors (which I will eventually buy), I wanted my new set of luxurious towels to be classic white. So, that's what I got. They were incredibly gorgeous and came with two absorbent bath towels, hand towels and washcloths. Of course, with such a beautiful set of towels, I couldn't just hang them up thoughtlessly on my towel rack. They deserved to be styled nicely. Here's what it looked like when I was done with my origami shenanigans:
Super cute, right?! Here's how I made it:
1. Start with the hand towel
Fold the bottom ribbed part up halfway.
2. Fold the folded part back down halfway
3. Turn the towel around and fold inwards
Make sure it meets in the middle! You're done with the hand towel for now.
4. Use the washcloth to create the fan
Start by folding it in half.
5. Fold it in a back-and-forth motion
Similar to folding a paper fan, create at least four ridges with the washcloth by folding it back and forth until it looks like the photo below.
6. Stick it in the pocket of your hand towels
Congrats! Now all you have to do is carefully drape your creation over the bath towels and you're done!
The towels also come with a gentle detergent developed by SaaSoh themselves, so you don't have to worry about your first wash if you don't have gentle detergent.
If you decide to check them out (which I truly hope you will - they literally have the softest towels ever), then be sure to use the code ANHL2018 for 20% off your order of $100 or more! Once again, I got the classic white 6-piece set in case you're wondering. It's just a wholesome set of luxury towels that every household needs. Ollie agrees!
